_2015-2016 was a success! Thank you all for your time and contributions. _
The following have been selected to the Campbell Summer Softball Team and should be at practice May 6 from 6-8pm. Thank you all for your interest in Campbell Softball.
Good afternoon prospective players and parents. I am making some changes to the original schedule due to the pace of our progress and the results of our tryout. Each prospective player has been given the opportunity to demonstrate her individual softball abilities.
We coaches have compiled the data and discussed the best direction for each prospective player as it relates to our softball program. That being said, we will conduct an inter-squad scrimmage today, May 5th, to evaluate each prospective player in a game situation. We will be looking at softball skill as well as knowledge of the game in today’s scrimmage.
At the conclusion of the scrimmage the prospective players will be dismissed and the coaches will meet and make our final decision on who will make up our summer softball team. The prospective players selected will consist of those who we believe will give our summer team the best opportunity to compete on any given night. Our summer team will then practice and compete against other programs in the area.
I will post the summer roster on the teampage and outside my room at the school. I encourage all who tried out to come talk to me about their tryout and collect their evaluation sheet regardless of the outcome.
Students who do not make the summer team will be given another opportunity to tryout August 1st and 2nd. The August 1st and 2nd tryout will give prospective players an opportunity to make our Varsity or Junior Varsity team. Our JV team is designed to develop players who we believe may help the Varsity compete in the future while the purpose of our Varsity team is to compete at the highest level possible.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
We will have tryouts at the field tonight from 6-8pm as planned. We were concerned with weather but it looks good and the field is dry. Thank you.
Softball Try-Outs will be held May 2-6 from 6-8pm. You must have a current physical on file in order to try out. Please come see me if you don’t know the status of your physical. I have reached out to those I know are expired.
